Optimization of a low weight electronic differential for LEVs

    Get PDF
It is presented a performance analysis of an Electronic Differential (ED) system designed for Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs). We have developed a test tricycle vehicle with one front steering wheel and two rear fixed units is a same axis with a brushless DC integrated in each of them. Each motor has an independent controller unit and a common Arduino electronic CPU based that can plan specific speeds for each wheels as curves are being traced. Different implementations of sensors (input current/torque, steering angle and speed of the wheels) are discussed related to hardware complexity, and performance obtained based on speed level requirements and slipping on the traction wheels.Universidad de Málaga. Use of WebQuest to improve Operating Systems learning

    Get PDF
The impact of the Internet on the Society also affects the learning at the University. Students not only use printed books and their own notes, but also the information available in the Net. WebQuests are learning tools that help the students use the Internet, but under the supervision of the professor, who have previously selected the most interesting sites to visit. An experience of using WebQuests with first year Computer Science students is shown, as well as the good results obtained, both in the increase of successful examinations and in the good attitude of the students when using WebQuest

Using Java and C# for educational simulators: the case of SIMPLE-2

    Get PDF
    P. 77-92Due to the impact of the new technologies in our Society, special efforts to use them for teaching-learning computer architectures have been done. This work presents a simulator of a simple architecture (Simple-2) using two different technologies: Java and C#. In the one hand, the Java version is an applet which runs inside a web browser; in the other hand, the C# version runs as an application that needs a virtual machine be installed in the system. The impact of both technologies on first year Computer Science students has been analyzed, as well as the degree of learning achieved when using the simulator for learning an architecture in a semi-autonomous wa

Based on the municipal records and documents from Navarra and Castilian Royal archives, we compare two animal husbandry models in the Western Pyrenees during the Late Middle Ages. On the one hand, livestock raising in Guipúzcoa was typically transterminant, based on small radius movements between summer and winter sites, within one valley or its surrounding areas. On the other hand and in the valleys of Aezkoa, Salazar, and Roncal, we find long cycle transhumance, whose winter destinations were either the Bardenas, on the Ebro river banks around Tudela, or the Landas Bordelesas, where both locations were approximately 100 km away from the valleys of origin. The characteristics which differentiate both areas are explained

Fuzzy logic programs as hypergraphs. Termination results

    Get PDF
Graph theory has been a useful tool for logic programming in many aspects. In this paper, we propose an equivalent representation of multi-adjoint logic programs using hypergraphs, which are a generalization of classical graphs that allows the use of hypergraph theory in logic programming. Specifically, this representation has been considered in this paper to increase the level and flexibility of different termination results of the computation of the least model of fuzzy logic programs via the immediate consequence operator. Consequently, the least model of more general and versatile fuzzy logic programs can be obtained after finitely many iterations, although infinite programs or programs with loops and general aggregators will be consideredAgencia Estatal de Investigación PID2019-108991GB-I00Junta de Andalucía FEDER-UCA18-108612European Union COST Action CA1712

Biomass derived products as modifiers of the rheological properties of coking coals

En: 1st Spanish National Conference on Advances in Materials Recycling and Eco – Energy Madrid, 12-13 November 2009.-- Editors: F. A. López, F. Puertas, F. J. Alguacil and A. GuerreroThe modifications in the development of fluidity of a coking coal caused by eucalyptus wood and its carbonization products (charcoal and tars) were assessed by Gieseler plastometry. In addition, three biomass model compounds (cellulose, xylan and lignin) were selected for comparison with biomass products. Thermogravimetry was used to follow the pyrolysis behaviour of the biomass products and model compounds and to study the role of them in the reduction of coal fluidity.Peer reviewe

Electrochemical impedance spectroscropy study on the behavior of reinforced concrete elements under loading

Concrete is a material of porous nature that, when humidified, becomes an ionic conductor whose apparent conductivity depends on the ionic load (typically based on OH−, Ca2+, Na+, and K+) and the amount of available free water. Under conditions of partial pore-saturation, the amount of free water can be modulated by an external load, which leads to observable changes in electrical properties such as conductivity and capacitance. Moreover, metallic reinforcements, either as bars or fibers, represent an additional parallel conduction path but of an electronic nature in this case. The free water develops a double-layer capacitance structure at the metallic interfaces, with associated charge-transfer resistance, representing an additional contribution to the capacitive behavior that can be modulated with an external load. The dependence that the electrical and/or ionic conducting properties of concrete and reinforced concrete elements have on the available free water makes them suitable for transductors in various sensing and self-sensing applications discussed in the text.Xunta de Galicia | Ref. Writing Abstracts: Technological Applications from a Corpus-Based Study

Paper (RP), have often been analyzed in order to observe how information has been rendered for translation or contrastive analysis purposes. However, in this genre, as in many others, “while there is a wealth of descriptive research, generally speaking, the information is not directly amenable to applied endevours” (Rabadán, 2008: 103). The aim of this paper was to describe the methodology and the tools devised by the ACTRES research group to bridge the transition between linguistic description and procedural information. The first step of this process was to design a small special corpus of scientific abstracts, the BioAbstracts_C-ACTRES. The macro and microlinguistic characteristics of this corpus were analyzed in order to find the most prototypical rhetorical, grammatical and lexical features of this genre. Then, we identified the “anchors” (Rabadán: in press) relevant for the native speakers of Spanish. Finally, a prototype of a writing application, the Scientific_Abstract_Generator, has been designed. Still under development, it aims at helping native Spanish users who are non-linguist field experts, to write scientific abstracts in English
